Cumberland branch was formed in March 1948 and merged with Carlisle City on 1st January 1968.  It covers the former county of Cumberland, from the Solway coast to Northumberland, and from the northern Lake District to the Scottish border.  Current membership exceeds 400.  A Branch Newsletter is published quarterly

Westmorland with Furness

'The branch evolved from Barrow-in-Furness & District amalgamating with Westmorland County in 1999. The 2 partners having been founded in 1946 and developed over the years through force amalgamations. Its roll numbered 299 at AGM 2011. Members & Widows are accepted from those who have served within and on its borders, also from those with service elsewhere but now living happily amid this beautiful & tranquil area of Cumbria

The branch circulates 4 newsletters each year to particularly include meetings [Notice/Agenda/Minutes]. It gathers for AGM in February at Carus Green Golf Club, Kendal, with complimentary buffet & reception drink. Urgent news such as bereavement is passed by phone as best able. The branch enjoys close and excellent support from its sister branch in Cumberland as well as regular liaison within the North West Region

A joy to live, a pleasure to serve and a welcome truly warm for all
